They will describe how they brought sustainable changes to their organizations even though it wasn’t in their job descriptions. Then hear how the Seattle Professional Net Impact chapter can help you to create change within your organization. We are starting a local Impact at Work support group that can help you define a sustainability project in your company and advise you as you reach your goal. Additional information can be found here.
Think you’ll be hungry? You can pre-order a Chipotle burrito and chips with an assortment of freshly-made guacamole and medium tomatillo-green chili salsa. All burritos are made with: cilantro-lime rice, vegetarian black beans, mild fresh tomato salsa and cheese. Orders must be placed 12 hours before the event starts and food will not be available to purchase at the library. Just use the RSVP link to order your food.
If you would like to join the group, but can’t attend this event, please contact Suzanne.
About the Speakers:
In 2008, Ms. Drumheller co-founded Alaska Airlines’ corporate sustainability program. She raised awareness of the importance and value of environmental stewardship through the launch and leadership of a cross-divisional Green Team, which lead to a company-wide adoption of new “greener” business initiatives and strategies. In 2009, she completed Alaska Airgroup’s first Corporate Environmental Responsibility Report. By institutionalizing sustainability and integrating environmental decisions into routine business decisions, Ms. Drumheller believes that businesses can improve their brand value and corporate image, increase employee engagement, cut costs, and reduce risks.
Ms. Drumheller is an enthusiastic public speaker who enjoys turning dry technical information into something simple, fun, and understandable.
Derek Eisel founded and leads the environmental program for Expeditors International of Washington, Inc., a six billion dollar global logistics company headquartered in Seattle. Expeditors’ completes an annual company-wide greenhouse gas footprint with the help of 180 office green teams around the globe.
Expeditors works with customers to measure their transportation greenhouse gas footprint and recommend logistics solutions to optimize their supply chain to reduce their footprint and save money. Derek also has 10+ years of software development experience and supports Expeditors’ technology vision in the Research and Development team. In his spare time Derek enjoys planting big native trees, playing the guitar and practicing acrobatic yoga.
This event is not sponsored by the Seattle Public Library.
